The “virtuosic Fidelio Trio” (Sunday Times) present a concert of works by Robert Fokkens to celebrate the release of ‘Tracing Lines’, Robert’s first chamber music portrait disc. ‘Tracing Lines’ brings together the Fidelio Trio, Carla Rees (bass flute), Patricia Rozario (soprano) and Grammy-award winning producer Raphael Mouterde to present the premiere commercial recordings of Robert Fokkens’s chamber music on the Métier label.
Fokkens’s music draws together a broad range of influences in a language rooted in traditional Xhosa music from South Africa, and has been described as “hilarious…engaging…quirky…witty…” (The Times) and “engrossing if unsettling… colourful, challenging…irreverent…moving” (Classical Source website).
