COMMISSION FOR FIDELIO TRIO TOUR OF SOUTH AFRICA

The exceptional Fidelio Trio (Mary Dullea - piano, Darragh Morgan - violin, Robin Michael - cello) will tour South Africa in September 2011 with programmes of South African, Irish and standard repertoire works. They will include performances of a substantial new work for trio, commissioned by the SAMRO Endowment for the Arts, and ImVubu, commissioned for the Austrian Cultural Forum 2010, in a number of their concerts.

Greenwich International String Quartet Festival

Robert’s commissioned work for the GISGF (West Africa Squadron)  will be performed by the Wu Quartet (King Charles Fellowship Quartet at TCM) and the Junior Trinity Intermediate String Ensemble at Trinity College of Music in Greenwich as part of the 3-day festival.  The festival includes performances by many of the top quartet in the UK and internationally, including the Allegri, Brodowski, Carducci, Kopelman, Smith, Solstice, Turtle Island and Wihan quartets.

Clockwise at the Harare International Festival of the Arts

Exciting New York-based South African harp and violin duo Clockwise (Jacqueline Kerrod - harp, Marc Uys - violin) perform two concerts at the HIFA in Zimbabwe, the first of which includes Robert’s approach, encounter, commissioned and premiered by them in their 2008 South African tour.
