Kosmos plays the ICA as part of spnm’s The Sound Source series - ’the UK’s leading experimental music night’. Alongside their stunning repertoire of original, fascinating arrangements of Balkan, klezmer, gypsy and Greek music, they present a short set of new and traditional music from South Africa - composed and arranged by Robert Fokkens.

Contemporary cabaret conglomerate Pulse return with a short set at the Riverside Studios as part of Tete-a-tete’s exciting The Opera Festival. The late night Afters performances present composers and their various side-kicks and accomplices in an array of cabaret-style performances.
Pulse will perform their usual blend of social commentary, quirky curiousity and world-weary cynicism, mixing older songs by Satie, Weill, Cage and Eisler with more recent bits and pieces by Geoff Hannan, Laurence Crane and Rob Fokkens.
The Riverside Studios, Hammersmith
Friday 24 August at 10pm
The Opera Festival runs from 9-26 August (Thurs-Sun) at the Riverside Studios. Check out the Tete-a-tete website for more details!
The Living Composers Project returns with another gig at The Space on the Isle of Dogs, this time focussing on fast, brisk and high-speed music. My contribution is a new piece for 2 (probably hyper-ventilating) bassoonists, and it will be performed alongside music by Stephen Crowe, Colin Riley, Adam Melvin, Jordan Hunt and others.
